What are MAC cards and how do they work online?
MAC (metaphorical associative cards) are image-based tools for exploring feelings, meanings, and inner states. On the online board, you pick a deck, draw cards, and capture insights with notes – alone or together with a therapist or group.
Do I need to sign up?
Not for basic sessions and public decks – just open the platform or follow a link. Sign in via Google to purchase decks, activate invite codes, and manage your profile.
How private is this?
  • Only people with the link can access the room.
  • Notes can be private, public, or anonymous – your choice.
  • During beta, we recommend not putting personal data in notes.

Can I create my own deck?
Creating decks requires an account, active Premium subscription, and the Contributor badge. Upload images, set up groups, and submit for moderation. Details on the creators page.
What are pearls?
Pearls are the platform's internal currency. Spend on: Premium subscription, invite codes for decks, and collectible items. Earn via promo codes, Deck Pledge, or the pearl shop.
Can I run a live session with a client?
Yes. All participants see the same board in sync, right in the browser – no installation needed. Draw and move cards, add notes, discuss in chat. Details on the psychologists page.
What are game pieces?
5 colored tokens and a d6 die for transformational games on the shared board. Collectible items (Zen Stones, Lilac Branch) are also available. Dice rolls are generated on the server.
How much does it cost?
Basic features are free: sessions, real-time sync, public decks, notes, tokens and die. Premium unlocks advanced session settings and more deck/room slots.
What is Premium and PRO?
Premium is a subscription unlocking advanced session settings, more slots, and session persistence (up to 20). Activated via promo code or purchased with pearls. PRO is a free badge for verified psychologists with +5 slots and up to 5 saved sessions.
Is session data stored?
Basic sessions are not stored after closing. Premium users (up to 20 sessions) and PRO users (up to 5) can save sessions with full board state: cards, notes, tokens, items.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes, the interface is responsive. Best experience is on a tablet or laptop (more space for the board). We recommend Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
Does this replace therapy?
No. This is a tool for working with images and self-reflection. If you need professional support, please consult a qualified specialist.
Is there an API for shops?
Yes. REST API for generating and managing invite codes programmatically. See the API docs and the shops page for details.
